Mecca Bingo Sheffield recently hosted a special birthday party for some of their members. It was quite by coincidence that the manager of the bingo club discovered that they had more than thirty club members all named June, so at the beginning of June she decided to host a special party for all of the members named June. In effect at the Mecca Bingo Club Sheffield, June WAS busting out all over.

Mecca Bingo Sells off to the Malaysians Again!
Friday, June 20th, 2008Last year we heard about Mecca Bingo selling off part of the shares in the company to the giant Malaysian gambling company Genting. They actually sold of 11 % of the shareholding, and now we hear that they are in the process of selling more shares to the Guoco group, also a Malaysian gambling concern, who already holds a stake in Rank, the parent company of Mecca bingo. This increases their stake in the company to a huge 12.67%.
Seniors Bingo is Saved
Thursday, June 12th, 2008Due to a District councilor getting involved in a social club re-development, an important part of the live of the elderly at Alexander gardens has been saved, their bingo. Councillor Mike Soley recently held talks with the managers of Festival Housing, they had plans to redevelop the bingo and social club that elderly people depended upon for their entertainment. Police Chief Proud of Force After Armed Robbery in Gala Bingo Club

Both Detective Constable Gareth Hamer and Detective Sergeant Ben McDonald were honoured and given awards for their investigative expertise in obtaining convictions against the three armed robbers. Online Bingo Addiction Drove Woman to Defraud Employer
Friday, May 2nd, 2008A Driffield woman, Sandra Ann Preston was found to have defrauded her workplace out of approximately ₤60 000 to support her online bingo addiction. This is apparently just a guestimate and the true figure is not yet known. The forty-one year old woman worked as a manager of the Eling Ltd petrol station which sells Total fuel, and she would transfer money from the business directly into her bank account from the PayPoint outlet at the garage.
