When Carlton Bingo was seeking to fund rapid growth, like all of they had to approach their bankers. Carlton bingo operates out of North-east England and Scotland an in 1997 they were bought out by their management. The management team was backed by Dunedin, a private equity firm and the Bank of Scotland. Five years later management bought out the equity interest in the bingo group through another loan, this time from the well known Lloyds TSB. (more…)

Police Chief Proud of Force After Armed Robbery in Gala Bingo Club

The Bradford North and Keighley Divisional Chief of Police has praised the dogged efforts of two detectives who solved the case of an armed robbery at the Gala Bingo Club in Alice street, Keighly. Both Detective Constable Gareth Hamer and Detective Sergeant Ben McDonald were honoured and given awards for their investigative expertise in obtaining convictions against the three armed robbers. Bingo! Mike Futter Wins on the Grand National

Blackpool born Mike Futter took a huge gamble when he bet on his own horse in the Grand National. The bingo club owner who lives in Bangor, Northern Ireland, took a real chance and won over ₤1 million when he put his faith in his own horse, Monty’s Pass and placed bets on it at 33 – 1 for a win. Online Bingo Addiction Drove Woman to Defraud Employer

A Driffield woman, Sandra Ann Preston was found to have defrauded her workplace out of approximately ₤60 000 to support her online bingo addiction. This is apparently just a guestimate and the true figure is not yet known. The forty-one year old woman worked as a manager of the Eling Ltd petrol station which sells Total fuel, and she would transfer money from the business directly into her bank account from the PayPoint outlet at the garage.
