I don’t know, but there have been a spate of crimes targeting bingo clubs in the UK in the past, this one however takes the cake. On the weekend at the Gala Bingo Club in Coventry, a gang of four masked robbers tried to get the bingo takings for the night and a security guard was shot in the process, despite strict gun laws in the UK. I really find this so difficult to understand, why robbers take a gun on a raid to a bingo club, generally speaking it is a soft target.

The robbers entered the building at 11pm, after all customers had left for the night. The only person in the bingo club was the security guard who was patrolling the premises. The robbers were unsuccessful in their bid to get the bingo takings for the night, however they shot the twenty five year old security guard in the leg, leaving him badly wounded. Fortunately he is in a stable condition in the hospital. He is also expected to make a full recovery. The would be robbers fled the scene of the crime no richer for their efforts

A Gala bingo spokesperson confirmed these facts and said that their greatest concern was for the health of the security guard. What really gets me is the fact that these thugs had to shoot the security guard, they must have been really desperate to have done such a thing.
