I know I have been there and it is a bit embarrassing to keep asking what this means and what that means. It happened to me and I actually felt quite stupid.

As Bingo Dies, So Too Does Fleetwood Pier

From 1965 till 2000 Bingo was a very popular pastime. In fact bingo is what kept the Fleetwood Pier alive, but when the bingo died so did the pier and now it is nothing but a smouldering wreck after a fire erupted on the pier. The Fleetwood pier has now been boarded up, pending the investigation regarding the cause of the fire. Arson has been suspected but the fire report will only tell.

Gala Bingo Shooting

I don’t know, but there have been a spate of crimes targeting bingo clubs in the UK in the past, this one however takes the cake. On the weekend at the Gala Bingo Club in Coventry, a gang of four masked robbers tried to get the bingo takings for the night and a security guard was shot in the process, despite strict gun laws in the UK. I really find this so difficult to understand, why robbers take a gun on a raid to a bingo club, generally speaking it is a soft target.

National Bingo Prize Shared Between 169 People

Last week saw the National Bingo Prize being shred by 169 people across the UK. This was an unprecedented happening, generally one or two or even a few people win and share the prize, but 169, surely this must be some kind of record? I have certainly never seen a happening such as this before in any bingo game, and I have been writing about bingo for quite a long time now.

For almost forty years Charles Ratliff and wife Virginia have been in charge of the fund raising bingo for the Brook Haven Exchange Club. The bingo games are the biggest fundraisers for the group, and Charles and Virginia had been married for nearly sixty two years.

Totally Bewildered Bingo Winner

We often hear about bingo winners who were it complete shock, completely speechless and breaking down in tears. But this young bingo winner, a thirty six year old woman from Glenrothes, says that she was “totally bewildered” when the bingo club told her how much she had won. She also said that it was absolutely fantastic and completely unreal too!
